Davide Biga completes his RTW ride on a Super Ténéré

Davide Biga left his home in Italy in May 2011 for a 90,000 km/55,000 miles ride around the world on his white Super Tenere. One year later he returned with many good memories (and a few not so good ones…). The bike performed flawlessly, but for a burned headlight bulb, and came through a big crash with no structural damage.

Here’s an excerpt from his interview with Italian web site http://www.pianetariders.it ;

6) On your journey around the world takes you a Yamaha Super Tenere. You could say that nobody has been able to test this Maxi-Enduro as thoroughly as you did. Tell us a bit ‘of its strengths and weaknesses, will satisfy all or would you improve in anything?

I would say perfect for use at 360 degrees. Right away I liked when I was already lucky enough to try it in 2010, during the “Ride for Life.” I immediately felt very sturdy and perfect for my purposes. In 85,000 km I just burned a headlight bulb … amazing. For someone like me, often alone, traveling without the mechanical assistance of any kind or later I could not ask for better.

The only change made to make it more functional for my purposes was the installation of aluminum suitcases roomiest in its Diapason Racing made specifically for this bike, as well as other details such as an exhaust Leovince … the voice was very rewarding!
